The Scientific Method (Step-by-Step)
5 STEPSScience is not just memorizing facts — it is a systematic process to solve mysteries:
1. Observe
Notice something interesting or odd.
2. Question
Ask why or how it happens.
3. Guess
Form a possible answer (Hypothesis).
4. Test
Perform experiments or observation.
5. Analyze
Check if results answer the question!
Example: "Why did my pen stop writing?"
• Observation: Pen stopped writing. → Guess 1: Ink is finished.
• Test 1: Open pen & check refill. Refill is full! Guess 1 was wrong!
• Guess 2: Ink has dried at the tip. → Test 2: Scribble on rough paper or warm tip → It works!
Everyday Scientists
You don't need a lab coat! Anyone using the scientific method is working like a scientist:
- The Cook: "Why did the dal spill out of the pressure cooker? Was there too much water?"
- Cycle Mechanic: "Why is the tyre flat? Where is the air leaking from?"
- Electrician: "Why is the light bulb not working? Is it the bulb or the switch?"
